Joyce Byers - Dark Red Plaid Flannel Shirt, Dark Blue Legs

Joyce Byers gives Stranger Things much of its human urgency. She is not a soldier, scientist, or superpowered child, but a mother whose refusal to accept easy explanations drives the earliest search for what is happening in Hawkins. Her red plaid clothing and everyday appearance are deliberately unheroic, which makes her important in a LEGO display crowded with supernatural threats. Joyce demonstrates that licensed collections become richer when they preserve the ordinary people who give fantastic events emotional weight. A monster tells you what the danger looks like; Joyce tells you why surviving it matters.
