Classic - Knights Tournament Prince

The Tournament Prince is one of LEGO Castle's earliest attempts to distinguish rank and role within a medieval scene. Released around the turn of the 1980s, he belongs to a period when the minifigure itself was still new and LEGO was learning how helmets, colors, shields, and costume pieces could imply hierarchy. There was little official character biography; 'prince' was a play prompt rather than a scripted personality. That makes him a fascinating predecessor to today's named Castle characters, where elaborate printing and lore now do work once left almost entirely to imagination.
