Zombie Captain America

Zombie Captain America comes from Marvel's What If...? vision of a universe where the familiar superhero world is overtaken by a zombie outbreak. The power of the design lies in corruption of an icon: the star-spangled uniform, shield, and recognizable Captain America silhouette remain, but the heroic face has become monstrous. LEGO's Marvel Studios Collectible Minifigures could focus on alternate costumes and streaming characters too specific for ordinary sets, making this figure a snapshot of the multiverse era of superhero storytelling. It is Captain America recognizable precisely because so much of Captain America has gone wrong.
