Classic - Knights Tournament Knight Blue

A tournament knight shifts the medieval story from siege to spectacle. Released around the dawn of minifigure Castle, this 1979-era figure belongs to LEGO’s first attempts to turn knights into recurring characters who could joust, compete, guard, and adventure beyond a single yellow fortress. The blue costume is simple by later standards, but that simplicity is historically revealing. Early Castle had to communicate role with color, helmet, shield, horse, and weapon because detailed torso printing and specialized armor were still limited. The tournament setting provided exactly the kind of modular narrative LEGO excelled at: two riders, a barrier, some heraldry, and children supplied the entire ceremony.
