This armored knight captures LEGO Castle during its move away from the almost abstract simplicity of the Yellow Castle era and toward richer fantasy world-building. A molded breastplate, neck protection, cape, and stronger color blocking turn the minifigure into a fully equipped warrior rather than merely a smiling person holding a sword. That layering is important to LEGO history: instead of printing every detail onto a torso, Castle often built identity outward with interchangeable armor, helmets, plumes, shields, and capes. The minifigure became a modular costume system inside the larger LEGO system.
