Football Referee

The referee is a rare sports minifigure whose job is not to win. Black uniform, whistle, and officiating role place the focus on rules, fairness, and the invisible structure that makes a game function. That is a surprisingly useful addition to the LEGO sports world, where players usually receive all the attention. Released in 2023, the figure also reflects the Collectible Minifigure line’s growing interest in everyday roles rather than only fantasy archetypes. A referee may be less glamorous than a striker, but on a display shelf the figure makes a football scene feel like an organized contest instead of a crowd chasing a ball.
