Ross Geller

Ross Geller arrived in LEGO with the 2019 Ideas recreation of Central Perk, a set that demonstrated just how powerful television nostalgia had become within adult LEGO collecting. His layered clothing and expressive face are modest compared with fantasy characters, but that is the challenge: Friends is recognizable through people, furniture, and shared spaces rather than costumes or vehicles. Ross represents the transformation of a sitcom location into a display object. The coffeehouse couch, stage, mugs, and ensemble cast become a kind of three-dimensional memory palace for viewers who spent years with these characters.
