Howard Wolowitz

Howard Wolowitz is an aerospace engineer whose wardrobe is nearly as engineered as his work: bright colors, turtlenecks, elaborate belt buckles, and a carefully maintained 1960s-inspired silhouette. That makes him unusually well suited to minifigure adaptation because costume does so much of the recognition. Howard is also the group member whose career most directly reaches space, eventually traveling to the International Space Station despite years of being mocked for lacking a doctorate. The LEGO Ideas figure therefore sits at an amusing intersection of fiction and the company’s long fascination with real and imagined spaceflight. A sitcom character in a tiny apartment carries an authentic astronaut chapter in his story.
