Angela Martin

Angela Martin compresses disapproval into a person. The accountant’s rigid standards, severe expressions, devotion to cats, and complicated relationships make her both one of Dunder Mifflin’s harshest judges and one of its most revealing hypocrites. That contradiction is central to The Office: characters are funny because the documentary camera keeps catching the distance between the identities they perform and the lives they actually lead. A minifigure cannot reproduce years of glances into the camera, but it can place Angela back into the instantly recognizable workplace ensemble. The LEGO Ideas set turns television character chemistry into physical arrangement—who sits near whom becomes part of rebuilding the comedy.
