LEGOLAND - Blue Torso, Blue Legs, Black Cowboy Hat

A cowboy hat does nearly all the narrative work on this 1976 LEGOLAND figure. With no face printing and no articulated arms or legs, early figures depended on silhouette and accessories to tell children who they were supposed to be. The hat instantly transforms a basic blue body into a Western character, demonstrating LEGO's first experiments with role-playing before dedicated minifigure themes became standard. It is an important evolutionary fossil: recognizable as a LEGO person, but still one crucial design step away from the modern minifigure that would arrive in 1978.
