Bartman

Bartman is Bart Simpson's homemade superhero alter ego, a parody of comic-book heroics that became surprisingly prominent during the early wave of Simpsons merchandising. Cape, mask, and purple costume turn Springfield's most famous troublemaker into the kind of hero a mischievous child might invent for himself. LEGO's version therefore captures not only a television joke but a piece of 1990s pop-culture history, when Bart's image spread across clothing, music, games, and merchandise worldwide. Bartman is a character inside a character—Bart playing superhero, then LEGO turning that play-acting into a collectible minifigure.
