Janitor

The Janitor is a quiet celebration of the people who keep public spaces functioning after everyone else leaves. His work clothes and mop are intentionally mundane, but the figure stands out in a line often dominated by heroic or fantastical identities. LEGO City had included cleaners before, yet giving a janitor a dedicated Collectible Minifigure slot in 2016 treated an overlooked occupation as worthy of character design in its own right. In a museum display, he is a useful corrective to the idea that collections need only famous people and spectacular costumes. Everyday labor is part of the world LEGO models too.
