Vampire Bat

The Vampire Bat is a wonderfully literal piece of monster design: part aristocratic vampire, part winged creature, and entirely comfortable with LEGO's playful exaggeration. Released in Series 8 in 2012, the figure uses specialized wing and head elements to stretch the classic minifigure silhouette without abandoning it. That was one of the Collectible Minifigures line's great contributions—allowing designers to experiment with forms too eccentric for an ordinary Town set. The character feels like a mash-up of Dracula, pulp horror, and Halloween costume culture, condensed into four centimeters of plastic theater.
