Fat Friar

The Fat Friar is the cheerful house ghost of Hufflepuff, remembered far less for tragedy than for geniality. That makes him a useful counterpoint to ghosts such as the Grey Lady, Bloody Baron, and Nearly Headless Nick, whose deaths carry heavier backstories. His monk-like robes and rounded appearance immediately communicate an older historical period within Hogwarts. LEGO’s translucent treatment places centuries of school history beside modern students in the same display. Collecting the house ghosts turns the minifigure shelf into a vertical timeline: people from wildly different eras continuing to inhabit one institution long after their lives ended.
