NBA Kobe Bryant, Los Angeles Lakers #8 (Home Uniform)

Kobe Bryant's 2003 minifigure comes from LEGO's short-lived NBA experiment, when real professional athletes became named minifigure characters. The Lakers uniform and number 8 turn a generic sports figure into a very specific snapshot of basketball history and of LEGO's early-2000s push into real-world licensing.
