Train Kid

Train Kid is LEGO fandom folded back into LEGO itself. Rather than being a railway worker, the child wears a cardboard-style locomotive costume, turning love of trains into literal identity. That distinction matters. LEGO trains have been a major part of the system for generations, attracting a famously dedicated adult and child fan community; this 2024 CMF celebrates not the machine but the enthusiast. The toy therefore depicts someone enjoying the same category of toy that produced the figure. It is delightfully self-referential: a LEGO minifigure, collected by a LEGO train fan, representing a kid who is enough of a train fan to dress as one.
