Police - Torso Sticker with 5 Buttons and Badge, Black Legs, White Hat

This unassuming police officer occupies an extraordinary place in LEGO history: he is widely regarded—and has been identified in LEGO’s own historical material—as the first modern LEGO minifigure, released in 1978 with the new LEGO Town theme. His familiar yellow head, movable arms and legs, and gripping hands established a basic design that has remained remarkably unchanged for nearly half a century. Yet one detail immediately reveals his age: the five-button uniform and police badge are not printed at all, but applied as a sticker to the torso—a surviving artifact from the very beginning of the minifigure era.
