T-Rex Costume Fan

The T-Rex Costume Fan is a dinosaur wearing a person—or rather, a person enthusiastically disappearing inside a dinosaur. Oversized molded head, tail, teeth, and tiny costume arms turn the standard minifigure body into a parody of one of paleontology’s most famous predators. Costume figures are a recurring CMF tradition because they exploit the contrast between the rigidly familiar minifigure underneath and the absurd shell outside. Released in 2023, this figure also connects two enduring LEGO fascinations: collectible mascots and dinosaurs. It is less about pretending the T. rex is real than celebrating the joy of being the kind of fan who wants to become one.
