Dementor - Black with Black Cape

The Dementor is one of Harry Potter’s most difficult creatures to reduce to a minifigure because its menace depends on absence: no visible humanity, no expressive face, only a hooded silhouette that seems to drain warmth from a room. This 2018 version embraces that problem with an almost completely black form and a flowing cape, allowing shape rather than facial printing to carry the character. Dementors also mark a tonal shift in the series itself, first appearing in Prisoner of Azkaban as embodiments of fear and despair. In LEGO form, they prove how unsettling a minifigure can become by withholding the usual cheerful human cues.
