Lucy Wyldstyle - Open Mouth, Hood Down

Wyldstyle enters The LEGO Movie as the person Emmet thinks a hero should look like: skilled, mysterious, stylish, and already capable of seeing possibilities in ordinary pieces. Her real name, Lucy, becomes important because the film gradually strips away that constructed coolness and lets her become a partner rather than an idealized rebel. The asymmetrical black outfit with neon pink and blue markings made her instantly distinct in 2014, while the hood-down version reveals more of the person beneath the persona. As one of LEGO’s major original film heroines, Lucy also occupies an unusual space between toy and cinema: she was designed to be both a character and something children could physically rebuild.
