Police - Suit with 4 Buttons, Black Legs, White Hat

This police officer is a textbook example of Classic Town design: a simple printed uniform, white cap, black legs, and the universal smile. Introduced in 1979, just after the modern minifigure itself, he helped populate the new minifigure-scale city with recognizable civic roles. Early Town figures were intentionally generic—no names, ages, or elaborate facial personalities—so they could be reassigned to any story.
