Horseback Rider

The Horseback Rider belongs to the special Team GB Collectible Minifigure series created for the 2012 London Olympics. Unlike ordinary blind-bag series sold internationally, Team GB was a distinctly British celebration tied to the host nation and Olympic moment. The equestrian figure is particularly fitting because Britain has a long competitive tradition in horse sports and won multiple equestrian medals at London 2012. In LEGO history, the series is an unusual intersection of national identity, real-world athletics, and the collectible minifigure format—a time capsule from the summer when London briefly became the center of global sport.
